Well, that's a matter of taste.    There's no law that says that conlangs
HAVE to be exotic;   it's just that some people like to make them that way.
My own Palo and Nu are meant to be exotic, but my Goesk is a
germanoid-euro-clone.    I'm sure that more than one of us has thought about
making an artlang that looks like an auxlang, or striving to make the
simplest grammar possible as opposed to the most exotic.

"Exotic" is probably one of at least thirty-one flavors of conlangs.   May
you find the flavor that you like best.   :-)
