If you haven't read this novel by Neal Stephenson you should. it has a lot of interesting theories about the origin of language and the reality of the Tower of Babel and why languages diverge instead of converge. all tied together in a virtual reality with Sumerian myth. Actually citing many real scholars. Highly recommend Mario
