Not phonemic (complimentary distribution), but for me a definite length
distinction:
last. syl. of "Robert" vs. "Bert"
(for r-less speakers) last syl. of "rabbet" vs. "Bert"
Definite length in:
"burr" vs. last syl. of "robber"
"bird" vs. last. syl. of "cupboard"
