AFAIK 100,000 is also common on the Indian subcontinent, and a million
is sometimes written as "10,00,000" (presumably reflecting both the
pronunciation -- "ten Xs" -- and the Western convention of a comma
before the last group of ,000), while a Japanese would probably be
more likely to write "100,0,000" or "100,0000" if they used a
different comma position at all.
