I know what you mean! I seem to have the ability to spell any word
faultlessly, and photographically remember complete irrelevancies from 30
years ago, but still go to my local village shop and forget what I went
there for. I've also been known to write myself a shopping list (for the
reason mentioned above), take it into the shop with me, and then forget I
brought it!!
