Ada, a high level computer programming language, is named after Ada, Countess of Lovelace, daughter of Lord Byron, assistant to mathematician & computer pioneer Charles Babbage. She added much to Babbage's original work (some say she did most of the critical work & that Babbage's fame rests on her "toil.")
