You aren't.

I admit that I simplified a bit, concentrating on the most salient bit
of my image of him. There's more to Danny than just Tech.

Yes, you are right that Danny Wier's involvement in CONLANG goes
beyond his peculiar Tech project. I found quite a number of
other stuff he did in the archives, such as Callistan, and I remember
a fruitful discussion between him and me about the hypothetical
Nostratic macrofamily and our different approaches toward an "Elvish"
language (with quite different ideas about the nature of the Elves).
He might be somewhat weird, but after all, we are all a bit weird
sometimes, aren't we? The fact alone that we invent languages just
for the fun of it seems odd enough to most people...
