Not unlikely, but it became a fricative even before /t/ became /ts/
in initial position and after nasal or liquid. The resulting fricative
might have been laminal rather than apical, though there is no such
difference anymore in Modern Germanech. (This is what linguists
assume what happened in Old High German, and Germanech did the same.)
