My roommate is an Italian linguist, so I asked him about this. He told me in
Italy you can study linguistics, but that it is part of another department
such
as Foreign Languages or Literature, as Mangiat wrote. But, your curriculum is
de facto Linguistics -- a type of specialization, I guess.
