What about nouns? Pronouns, almost without exception, distinguish for
as many or more categories than nouns. English pronouns (except for
second person) distinguish subject and object, while nouns do not, for
instance. Some languages have number distinctions in pronouns but not
nouns. English also distinguishes gender in third person singular, but
not in nouns (not grammatically, at any rate). Old English pronouns
preserved a vestigial dual in 1st and 2nd person, while nouns had no
such vestige.
So, in other words, if your conlang doesn't inflect nouns, go ahead with
uninflected pronouns, but if it does, you'll need to inflect pronouns,
tho nothing's stopping you from making that inflection regular, as I
do! T=E1lkwa, for instance, means "I" in intransitive sentences, "me" in
transitive (ergative syntax), T=E1lkwaz means "to me", -z is dative.
