At least in Hofstadter's work, it's spelled "hsilgnE" (stevo: you
forgot to reverse the "ng") but nevertheless pronounced [SIlg'NI] ~
[Sil'NI].  That is,  both the spelling and the phonetics are reversed.
 Which makes explaining the spelling system quite difficult. :)
