Hi There

Hello everybody,
It's me, Matt Pearson, back from thesis hibernation. Having
filed my PhD dissertation on the clause structure of Malagasy, I
can now end my career as a grad student (huzzah!) and return once
more to my conlanging pursuits. I hope you've all been doing
well in my absence.
For those of you who don't know me, I'm an old regular on this
list (first joined in 1994). I work on an artlang called Tokana,
spoken by a tribe of sedentary hunter-gatherers who inhabit the
Pacific Northwest in an alternate history. I've also dabbled in
other projects. I even got the chance to create the alien Hive
language for the (deservedly) short-lived NBC show "Dark Skies"
(one of the few perks of being a linguist in Los Angeles is the
odd Hollywood job).
Anyhow, I look forward to having the time to participate on the
list again. It's so good to not be a grad student anymore, and
to have the time for other pursuits besides my dissertation!
Cheers,
Matt.
