   I thought that I should mention (for all you Semitophiles out there) that
the 4th edition of the American Heritage Dictionary has a *second* appendix
(in addition to Watkins' appendix on Indo-European roots) listing Semitic
roots in English.  While it is much smaller than the Indo-European appendix
(big surprise there), it is quite thorough and rather eye-opening.
    I highly recommend it ;)  I thought that I should plug it because it was
written by my advisor (and no, he's not holding a gun to my head - I swear).
