May well be the same phenomenon as Engrish in Japan, where Japanese product designers, with varying degrees of fluency in English, choose to use English words to appear more "modern" or "stylish", sometimes with rather amusing consequences. May well be the same with the Barf detergent. I suspect most foreign English dictionaries don't contain slangish words like "barf" :-)
