Much as I like to think I'm an open-minded language guy when it comes to
mellifluousness, Taiwanese is my least favorite language to listen to. The
natives think of it as a warm fuzzy, 'cause it reminds them of their parents
and the rural villages whence they hailed, but I think it just sounds like
people are constantly bitching each other out (which, since people often
lapse into dialect when bitching someone out, it often is) (pardon my
French). Noontime newscaster Taiwanese is the least abrasive. But aayaa!
