On the subject of Dada / turds / natural objects:
There's that bit in his "Diary of a Genius" where Salvador Dali eulogises
the shape of his turds, comparing them to rhinoceros horns!
And as a complete aside, your mention of the Crab Nebula leads me to
recommend, as a fabulous thing to look at, an object called IC1396. Search
for images of it in Google or whatever. It's a terrific nebula (I'm
currently studying some of the newly-formed stars in it, and have it as my
wallpaper. Beats Britney spears, and it's not cuckoo.)
And on the high art front, Blake's "Glad Day", Quenya and Beethoven's 7th
are near the top for me...

4. It's not obvious whether the Crab Nebula is a more beautiful
natural phenomenon than the Moonlight Sonata or Quenya
is a beautiful work of art.
