Just forget what I said before. A quick look at a French online dictionary
revealed that the original meaning of "foutre" as verb was indeed "to sexually
possess". It notes also that it is never used this way anymore, which is why I
didn't know that meaning. Indeed, "foutre quelqu'un" just doesn't sound
grammatically correct to me :)) .
