When I wrote that sentence, I wasn't thinking especially about Daddy Darth, but I don't think it would have changed much. But you are right, actually there are two more possibilities: "Ik ben uw vader" "Ik ben jouw vader" If Darth were Flemish (which I doubt), he would have said "uw". Most of you probably know by now that in Belgium "gij" en "u" are common forms for the second person singular. To me as a Hollander, "uw" sounds strange here. Even if the two are not exactly on speaking terms, a father would never call his son "u". "Jouw" and "je" mean exactly the same. In spoken Dutch it is simple: [jAw] is used only when special emphasis is intended, [j@] in all other cases. [jAw] is of course always written "jouw", but [j@] can be written both "jouw" and "je", according to taste of the writer. Jan ===== "Originality is the art of concealing your source." - Franklin P.
