In my investigation of Judaism as a personal religious outlet 4 years ago
(don't ask - long story not appropriate to this list in even the remotest
stretch), I found that members of synagogues often recited Hebrew by rote
with only a vgue idea of what they were saying. But the same happens in
Pagan groups in the USA, too - repeating Greek, Egyptian, Welsh, etc. often
with no more than a vague idea what it means.
Funny to me how people think that strange words alone rather than their own
minds/intents can make something sacred.
