I forgot if i already said this but...
The Chancellor of the California State University System officially closed
all campuses today. My office (Admissions) was closed, because it was
considered a non-essential department. It didn't seem real. All we talked
about at work was the attacks. The whole aftermath hadn't become apparent
until much later in the day. I didn't think it was real at all (it felt
the same as when i found out my friend David had died). That is, until i
saw the first tower collapse.
What was surreal for me was the glitter of glass, and the rain of papers
from the building mixed amid the smoke and dust. Also, the people covered
in dust looking like ghosts. It really didnt get to me until i saw the
people jump, and hear people scream in the background of amateur footage.
There's no way i could or even contemplate doing my homework. I suspect
that this will be discussed in my classes tomorrow and the day after.
