Philippines Spanish retained the pronunciation of /h/ for |h|
(originating from /f/).
Also Spanish does have /x/ of course, but in my experience it is a lot
weaker than in German, and somtimes weakens to /h/.
Most Americans find German to sound harsh, and will often immitate a
"German Drill Sargeant" when immitating it. Not a lot of Americans
find it pleasant to hear.
And to me personally, when I hear friends of mine purposefully
throwing in German terminology for things that have English
equivalents in order to sound "Intellectual" they sound more pompous,
affected, and snobbish to me (Them, _not_ a German Speaker, and in
situations that really don't require it). I'll stop before someone
accuses me of being a snob myself :).
I actually kind of like hearing German spoken. I actually find spoken
French to be unpleasurable to hear (most Americans love French
accents). However, I like _sung_ French, but only when sung by
certain singers (Like Natacha Atlas, whose rendition of Ne Me Quitte
Pas I like ten times better than Edith Piaf's)
By the way, no one I know pronounces "French" as /fr\EnS/ unless
immitating the accent. Everyone I know says /fr\EntS/
