It's probably nerdy slash. :-) From 'instance' of a certain 'class',
'instantiate' is derived to mean to create an instance of that class.
In this case the 'class' is standard pronunciation, so instances
(phonology modules in speech centers of people) of this class have the
property to use standard pronunciation.
