The basic rule is surely that things related to Conlang List and
conlanging list belong on Conlang List, and everything else doesn't.
Politics usually doesn't belong, because it usually is unconnected
to Conlang and conlanging. But in this instance, the brouhaha is
about someone slagging off conlanging and Conlang and blacklisting
conlangers.
However, there is an established law of debate, that says that when
someone says "Fifty years ago, Hitler vilified the Jews much in the
same way that Dr. [G]unn vilified us", the debate has gone beyond
the pale.
