Shared context, most likely. In my family we know about four people named
"John", not including myself, and there is rarely much confusion, because
only one of them will be appropriate to the context of the conversation.
OTOH, I found out only last night that my daughter believed the classic rock
lyric "Give me the beat, boys, to save my soul" was actually "Give me the
Beach Boys to save my soul". ROTFL!
