My Mac has _my_ soundbyte of a pleasant, unobtrusive radar ping filtered
through the modelled acoustics of a 100,000 gallon steel oblong cylinder
object filled with water. :)
Beeps & other such sounds are for games IMMHO...
& for system warnings, I need an annoying sound like the low frequencies
of a chainsaw mixed with the middle and high range freq.s of a metal fork
clawing down a chalkboard ::cringe::
czHANg who has a mild case of synaethesia (ok, not so mild... I can't
frikkin' drive...)
OBCONLANG:
names for "computer" in Lego (so far) are {with pseudo-Berlitz-style
pronunciation guide, hehe}:
_mecnocerebre_ {mAYk.no.sAY.rAY.brAY} <<machine/mechanical brain>>
specifically the early types of computers (pre-Mac/PC era)
_ciber-cerebre_ {sEE.bAYr-sAY.rAY.brAY} <<cyber(netic) brain>>
for the more recent computers (Mac/PC era) and future
computers
For short, computers are referred to as _PiCi_ {pEE.sEE} and, amongst
programmers, hackers & _ciber-puncte homi_ <<cyberpunk humans>>, the computer
hardware contained in a system is referred to as _cube_ {kOObAY} <<box/cube>>
;)
