Though I'm relatively young and raised on electronic forms of
communication and publishing, I fully agree.

It is. (David Durand is the guy to contact for that; specific plans
are still in development.)

I'm sorry about that; 'twas certainly not intentional. I'm not sure
how you managed to join (since the code for that was only publicly
visible for about a day on an unlinked page, while I was doing some
test edits)... we simply haven't finished hashing out benefits yet,
and are still finishing our tax app so that we can have full nonprofit
status and thus be able to promise certain member benefits that we
legally can't do yet.
There are several member benefits we'd like to offer - and probably
could - but we're trying to err on the side of reliability over
breadth for now, and roll out things gradually so that we can do 'em
well.
I thought I had written you back shortly after you signed up saying
essentially the same thing as here, but evidently not. My apologies
for that; it's of course not our intent to alienate members, and I
hope we'll do better in the future.
