Well, I read the page, and though I understand the principle, I still don't
understand the implications (the intervals must be expressed as ratios of whole
numbers, but compared to what? And what is really a temperament?). Maybe an
example would be welcome. Since the last conlang I created is accompanied with
a conculture which has absolutely nothing to do with European culture, I'd like
to come up with a musical scale which is original for them :)) .

It seems indeed that there is the same relationship between making a language
and writing poetry, and between making a musical scale and writing music :) .
