For "I want you to eat the food", you could say "I-NOM see-VOL eat you-ACC
the food-DAT". I really like Taliesin's solution "I want food-eating-you".

David wrote, "You don't run into this problem with something like "can",
though, because you can't get, *"I can you to run" (meaning something like,
"I'm able to (be?) your running")."

But you *can* say "I can cause you to run"--"I-NOM
run-(causative)-(abilitative) you-ACC", for example.
