More unhealthy in what respect? Toxicity? The amount of health detoriation
the average user suffers?
At any rate, alcohol causes greater costs to society (in the Western
countries, at least).
(My personal irrational opinion is that anything that involves smoking or
sniffing stuff must be worse than anything that involves drinking or eating
stuff.)

I tend to assume a demonstratively upwind position when my smoking friends
light the things. Still, few of my closer friends smoke, certainly less than
the 20% proportion of the entire Swedish population that smokes. High
education and nerdy life-style probably explain that.
