We used to have a telephone in the shape of a piano. Every digit had its own
pitch, and all digits together formed a scale. As a result, I got used to the
tunes of familiar numbers. We replaced this phone already years ago, but still,
when I need one of those numbers, I first need to remember the tune, and only
then I can reproduce the number.
BTW usually I'm quite good at remembering phone numbers. I know at least one
hundred of them by heart.
