Same kind of deal in the UK. Instead of the US
practice of buying an annual sticker to put on
the license plate, we buy an annual circle of
paper that goes inside the windshield, called a
Tax Disk. I don't know if there's an official
term for it.
Also, I've noticed around here (North Carolina,
USA) the practice of putting the annual Safety
Inspection sticker in the windshield, whereas in
the UK, you simply get a piece of paper that
you're expected to keep somewhere safe.
