From "cellular" phone. The things only work if there
are cells that transmit signals in the channels or
frequencies these phones operate at. If you're phone
plan is cheap and has a limited network of cells, your
phone goes dead once it's out of range of the nearest
cell tower. One local dead spot has been Rock Creek
Park in the District (Washington) - as the Park
Service has been reluctant to allow the installation
of towers on Parklands.
It's a good thing, in my opinion. I don't want to
enjoy a park while having to endure some idiot's
overloud (but one sided) conversation about how Judith
should just get the nosejob so Bob will quit
complaining; though it might not be a bad idea for Bob
to just shut his ugly trap, cos his teeth are all
crooked; which reminds me, I'll be late cos I've got
to stop and get some toothpaste and stuff - you need
anything? [pause] OK, what kind of tampons is that?
[pause] OK, maxipads, too. See you around 7. Yeck!

Looks like a spoof of the Desiderata. Sort of.

Yes. And since it's WAR, I guess they'd be POWs... ;)
