Well, when the subtitles are in English, that's all right, but subtitles in
other languages are _way_ too distracting. A lot of the movies off the
network tend to be English with far-out subtitlings (X-Men in Chinese,
Phantom Menace in what looked like Tamil...)
Today I saw an episode of Pinky & the Brain subtitled in Dutch. I hadn't
ever thought anyone would bother to make "oyster petting zoo" all one word.
[But then, oyster petting zoos aren't exactly common conversation items...]
