Personally I prefer to use z and sh, because I am, if not a Muggle, at
least a mudblood; my language training was aimed more at gaining a reading
knowledge of languages than at understanding them linguistically. I do
intellectually know that ts and c can be used for z and that x can be used
for sh, but I have to make a conscious effort to keep that in mind when
reading systems that do it (e.g. pinyan for Chinese) and I find it
tiresome.
Incidentally, does anyone know the X-sampa spellings for the sounds I
spell in Rihana-ye tl and hl? (I can only say they are pronounced as
spelled.) They are the only 2 Rihana-ye phonemes not found in Mark's
useful chart.
