Lemme think about that.... if the octave in Western equal temperament tuning
is divided into 12 equal parts, then the color wheel would be used at 12
equadistant points. Red would be assigned to C, giving the following:
C = red
C#/Db = orange
D = yellow
D#/Eb = green-yellow
E = green
F = green-cyan
F#/Gb = cyan (or aqua)
G = blue-cyan
G#/Ab = blue
A = indigo, violet (or blue-magenta)
A#/Bb = magenta (or fuchsia)
B = scarlet (or red-magenta)
Luminance (or brightness) of colors may be used to indicate a lower or
higher octave.
But all this can be a problem unless you're really good at seeing colors;
same goes for vowel descriptions....
