Presumably /liNgwa/, although possibly earlier /liNgua/. In the Western Romance languages at least the gu comes out as /gw/, although French dropped the /w/. [...]

Allen and Greenbough's Latin Grammar is available online now, at http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/text?lookup=ag+gram.+toc It's a bit hard to follow in web form though.
