Utakassí has turned dual into specifically dual inclusive. It seems
more logical to me than to become exclusive. It's more common to speak
of "Me and you" than "Me and one other person", I would think. The
paucal came to be an exclusive plural, while the plural became an
inclusive plural (contrasting with dual). However, those last two
belonged to the post-Classical period. The Classical period merely had
dual inclusive, paucal, plural.
