Subject: Tech _hay_
| There's a root in Proto-Nostratic I really want to use in Tech: *hay (an
| interjection expressing surprise, amazement, grief, regret etc.) But not only
| as an interjection, but also as a case prefix:
|
| borg "war"
| hävorg "what a war", "oh war" [ä = a umlaut]
And I overlooked another root that's very similar: *way "woe!". Again, an
interjection, but what if I used it for a case ending?
To correct the above examples:
borg "war"
bävörg "great, glorious war" (ä, ö = a, o with umlauts, the latter resulting
from vowel harmony)
wävörg "silly, unfortunate war" (again, the umlauts)
Now I need two new names for the cases: the former being an expression of
greatness and awe; the latter pity and contempt. The only terms I can think of
are "exaltative" and "humilitative" (!?).
