While I find the language quite charming, especially with its
elegant usage of |va| and |vu| for different yet logically
related purposes, it appears to me as *not* very well suited
for haikus... the constricted phonology forces many words to
take up three or more syllables, and the analytical grammar
demands that all grammatical features be expressed with
additional syllables strewn into the text...

Well then--On this basis I find Japanese itself is not very well suited for haikus... :-)))) Personally I find Lilipu words indecently short :-|| All root words in my conlang are 3-syllable long and its grammar is hyperconstru~icted too. Phonostuffwise it ties with Lilipu with 11 sounds as well (a, i, u, p, m, t, n, k, ng, l, s)--although u is also w before a and i so maybe Lilipu is less in all. However Viktoro will never beat THIS one: the cheesiest poem a conlanger ever posted on this list: I tikanga nai pamingi Oa kamosa somingo I tolonga sotoko I kosoti kai manoki Olai pisomo A pilomi otai pikani! (Like a flower Born again Each morning Between the sky And the sea Oh my country!)
