Another P.S. (not .ps): Tech's rich verbal system constantly discriminates
between states and actions. I don't know what verb form does what yet, but
there is an expression of, say "rage", in both contexts: to be enraged and
to act out rage. There is also a causative, "to enrage (someone else)", as
well as a reflexive, "to [actively] become enraged (i.e. enrage oneself)".
And then there are the intensive forms, making the simple act or rage become
a wild rampage. I'd say the deciding factor is the result of the
state/action complex, and how much gets destroyed in the process.
