I think they must realise that there is some sort of interrupt
between the period of continuous Cornish (ending in the 18th or
19th century) and the "renewal" period of Cornish (beginning in
the early 20th century). They also know that the early revivalists
"tinkered" with the language a little in making it viable for
restart; and that people are _still_ tinkering with it.
I think there's no getting around the fact that Modern Cornish is
some kind of conlang. Hopefully this will not be the case for much
longer!
