Condolences to the hurricane victims.

Speaking from Tampa, Florida, and knowing all too well
the impact and destructive potential hurricanes can
have, I breathe a sigh of relief that the storm missed
me and everyone I know entirely, and that all I
received here was a few thunderstorms...
The situation is much more dire in Louisiana and the
surrounding states. New Orleans is now a lake.
Millions are homeless and people are dying. The damage
is incalculable; it's not mere property we're talking
about here, but _thousands_ or more dead. Mothers,
daughters, fathers, sons, husbands, wives. I saw the
news reports, the live footage. Corpses in the
streets. Grief-stricken survivors. Utter chaos and
ruin for one of the most lively cities in the States.
I couldn't choke back the tears.
I offer my condolences and sympathies to the victims
and their loved ones.
