Well, usually I just use a romanization, but sometimes I'll attempt a
native writing, and in those cases, I don't have any plan, I just make
up signs and assign them to syllables (it's a syllabry), and then I just
revise it over and over again to smooth it out, eliminate unneeded
strokes, or distinguish two signs in danger of confusion.
