Yeah, but you've probably changed in that time. I'm not the same person I was a year ago. I suppose a better example would be English phrases like "The then-President" meaning "the person who was President at that time" or "wife-to-be" or "ex-brother-in-law-to-be" (future perfect! ;-)) -- "There's no such thing as 'cool'.
