Speaking of alphabetizing glossaries I'm writing a computer program for editing and maintaining bi-lingual glossaries or dictionaries. (I'm a Windows software engineer by trade). I was wondering if anyone on this list might be interested in having such a program (freeware, of course). And if so, what capabilites and features would you like to see in it? I want to be able to maintain my Tazhi dictionary (about 750 words at the moment) more easily. The basic idea is to have one entry in the data base from which all appropriate dictionary entries are generated (in text file or HTML format.) So if I had and entry like, say (flat, smooth, level)=glose[adj]{some comment on usage, etc.} It would produce three entries (alphabetically arranged, of course) in the English to Tazhi dictionary and one entry in the Tazhi to English dictionary: flat [adj] - glose (smooth, level){some comment on usage, etc.} .... level [adj] - glose (smooth, flat){some comment on usage, etc.} ... ... glose [adj] - flat, smooth, level {some comment on usage, etc.} That way I only have to make changes in one place and all related dictionary entries automatically get updated. Let me know if you have any requests for features, etc. --gary.
