I once read in Southern France:
"DEFENSE AUX CHIENS D'URINER CONTRE CE MUR"
(Dogs are forbidden to piss against that wall),
meaning that we have the most clever dogs in the
world, since they can read that (but they do as they
like anyhow, meaning that there are even more clever
than one could think first).
I also very much like the inner Paris Underground
information screens. There is some message appearing
on them, so everybody rushes closer to see what
happened, and then reads:
"THIS MATERIAL IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER. WE DO
APOLOGIZE".
