Does he/she say the same for 'Ich bekomme den Zahn gezogen'? The verb
'kriegen' ist definitely colloquial.
Actually, it *is* mentioned in the/a standard grammar book of German:
Peter Eisenberg, Grundriß der deutschen Grammatik (now 2 volumes).
If you wish, I can look up how he classifies the construction.
