I've been toying with a similarish idea for Kalini Sapak (which have
semticoid consonantal base), alhto' not coming as far as actually start
devicing signs ...

Anyway, the idea is that you have an ideogramme for each base, and in text
add a sign that indicated the grammatical form (sg noun, pl masc adj etc).
In effect, the first sign gives the consonants and the later the vowels,
altho' you can still distinguish between say _aguzum_ "warrior (nom)" and
_gazumu_ "wars (nom)".
