Yep - "hardihood" = boldness, audacity; whereas "hardiness" = 'the ability
to endure cold, exposure. fatigue etc.
Interesting.
Then there's "likelihood" = probability. It's a common enough word and
"likely" (= possible) is applied to situations, not people.
