The best presented *natlang* I've seen is Basque, in R.L. Trask's "The History of Basque" (the whole of chapter two). It's also the best overview of Basque that I've found anywhere. There's lots about Basque on the web as well, but either too fragmented, too concentrated on some detail, or too shallow. In fact, this fall I've been studying Basque (as a consequence of needing some language or other that wasn't already used for a grammar project). If you want hairy, freaky verbs, Basque is it. One termpaper this fall will be "A core LFG grammar fragment of modern Basque", and I'm very much looking forward to writing it. t., who is seriously considering a basquified romance conlang...
